01 ] Don't abbrev.

06 ] Don't use no double negatives.
07 ] Each pronoun agrees with their antecedent.
08 ] Just between you and I, case is important.
09 ] Join clauses good, like a conjunction should.
10] Don't use commas, that aren't necessary.
11] Its important to use apostrophes right.
12] It's better not to unnecessarily split an infinitve.
13] Never leave a transitive verb just lay there without an object.
14] Only Proper Nouns should be capitalised. also a sentence should
15] begin with a capital and end with a full stop
16] Use hyphens in compound-words, not just in any two-word phrase.
17] In letters compositions reports and things like that we use commas
18] to keep a string of items apart.
19] Watch out for irregular verbs which have creeped into our language.
20] Verbs has to agree with their subjects.
21] Avoid unnecessary redundancy.
22] A writer mustn't shift your point of view.
23] Don't write a run-on sentence you've got to punctuate it.
24] A preposition isn't a good thing to end a sentence with.
25] Avoid cliches like the plague.
Well, I think that is a perfect blending of form and content.
Now, French .. remember that? It would be smashing to have something similar for French, bearing in mind as well that some of those up there would not apply, and other French-specific ones would have to be imported. You could start with very simple ones ..for example ...
1] N'utilise, pas les virgules, superflues.
2] commence avec une majuscule, et finis avec un point
3] N'abrége p.
Here's a more French-specific one ...
4] Les adjectifs, ils s'accordent avec les substantifs, comme le matin froide, la femme fiers, les jours chouette.
Anyway, this is all very well, but really it would be better if you thought some up for yourselves ... but if you want to put off such a task for a few precious moments, try listening to this .... it's a rare French song from Mary's Dream ... "la route est longue"
