" T'a vu mes lunettes ? a demandè Clotiare à Agnan. Maintenant, je vais être le premier en tout, et ce sera moi que la maîtresse enverra chercher les cartes et qui effacera le tableau ! La la lère !"
But what does that "la la lère" mean ?
Presumably, it's a sort of " so there" or " na-nah-na-nah-nah" thing.
I've looked in all sorts of dictionaries of ever-increasing size and weight, I've searched for it in my slang books ... "Merde !" , "Merde Encore !" etc.
And then ... the final surrender ... I googled it ... and straight away, found this ...
Hi all,
I have a French pen pal who, when asked a certain question responded, "Je ne te dirais paaaas ! La la lère !!!" I understand "Je ne te dirais pas" part, but what does the rest mean? Is it like in English "na-na-na-naaa-nah! ," or is it something else? Sorry for a stupid question, but I am curious.
Ans ... yes ... it's a "sung" childrens' taunt.
( but we still don't know what " lère" actually "means.")
