And one of the good things about these short-ish videos is the ability to go over little bits of it several times. Or all of it.

But now .... The World Famous Music Spot ....
Here's three "parodies" by Les Inconnus .... they're part of this theme I'm doing about understanding French speech ... a frequent difficulty for many of us learners. Moi aussi (!) And one of the good things about these short-ish videos is the ability to go over little bits of it several times. Or all of it. [1] Les escarres ... [2] La famille en plomb .. [3] Allons au cinéma .... ..... well I hope you enjoyed those ..all, I'm sure, Terrific For Your French. But now .... The World Famous Music Spot ....

I'm sure that many of you do a lot of your learning through reading ... so when I found this video I thought you might like to watch it. I like the way he "deals with" what he calls " literary tenses" ... by which I mean, he would agree with ME about the dastardly and pointless ( and ugly) Past Historic. So ..... off you go .... ..les chansons rétros ... .... et maintenent .... les chansons salétes ! ... a spot of bricolage ! ...... this sort of thing doesn't go on round our way... unfortunately. ....... well, only occasionally. ... and here's a much less controversial chunk ... The strange thing is, most of the males in Clochemerle look pretty ugly to me ..and old ! Maybe it's the hard life and the over-indulgence in strong wine that does it. And now ... brace yourselves .... 1½ hours-worth ... in colour !!! Cripes ! Zut alors !!! Hang on a minute ... isn't this the same "bricolage" bloke from that top bit ? Mercury will track across the face of the Sun tomorrow, Monday 11 November .... here's all the details ... in your actual French. Whatever you do, don't look at it directly .... and don't look at it through binoculars or a telescope ... it will frizzle your retina in a billionth of a second. Assuming the weather is OK, I'm going to do it with my telescope on a tripod, projecting the image onto a big bit of white card . Here's a video (in English unfortunately) showing you safe ways to view it .... BUT ..don't use the "solar glasses" that he tells you about first .... far too dangerous. The only really safe way to do it is right at the end of the video .... "projecting" the image through reversed binoculars or a telescope onto a sheet of white card. The "pinhole in the curtain" method is fairly safe, but tricky to actually set up ! Bonne chance !
You can get it in English as well ...... ↓ Oh, it is an odd play all right ... I wrote about it on here ages ago ... but seeing it is an entirely different thing !! Here's part 1 ... ... and now, the even odder, part 2 ! ... that had music in it, but here's some other music as usual ... Yes, another day, another play .... this one's " Fin de Partie" by Samuel Beckett .... here's a rather peculiar chunk from it ... very like the home life of our own dear Queen ... (?) ...here's another edifying bit ... ! ..and now, Elli et Jacno ... they're peculiar in an entirely different way ... |
AuthorLearn French in 88 years .. well, it's a long time, so you might as well enjoy yourself on the way. I hope you are enjoying all the sensible bits as well as the music, the games, challenges, odd diversions, rants, the roads less travelled and so on. I'm on the same road as well. Good luck to all of us. Archives ... monthly listing
